BJP ENTERTAINMENT PUTS March 4, 2009 By William Hanford Lee, Jr. BJP Entertainment was in the house for The Capital City Black Expo 2009. The Sac Black Expo is one of the largest events of its kind in the nation. The event is produced by my family’s media company – The Observer Media Group. Highlights included appearances by NAACP President Benamin Jealous, and gospel superstar Vanessa Bell Armstrong. In addition to just being there to assist with such an enormous undertaking, BJP Entertainment was responsible for the TV spots for the event. Check out the :30 here. We also had a booth for Sac Black Expo ’09 and Maria and Luenell were handling business – selling Luenell’s new stand-up comedy cd as well as her recent Katthouse Comedy DVD. I also put together two new compilations, “Funklab Street Rhythms” and “Funklab Alternative Soul.” None of us were performing, however all the cds sold very well. Check out the photos below. The booth was a great move it was right next to The Observer booth, and not only did we move a lot of merch, we got over 200 new addresses for the mailing list, and made some great connections. Sac Black Expo drew nearly 50,000 attendees. Saturday was wall-to-wall and broke the Expo’s single day attendance record. Don’t miss next year’s event.
